The Whole of Humanity

No man is so great as mankind~Theodore E. Parker
History is filled with people of greatness of every kind. Explorers, inventors, scientists, and with all their great contributions to the world, it could be argued that the world is a much better place. I personally maintain an admiration and respect for their contributions and like others, I have those that I have a personal fondness for.
Now, that being said, it must be understood that people of greatness alone don’t make mankind great, although they are contributors. Mankind’s greatness lies beyond the contribution and influence of a few—it is the “collective”, the collective community of humanity. We have a culture today where the individual is revered and mankind as a whole (the collective) is divided against itself in a destructive pattern. It’s vital that we reverse this trend and realize that things are either good for us all—or bad for us all, and break this division that threatens to undermine humanity’s greatness
