What is Control Anyway?

You can never expect to be able to control what goes on outside if you are not capable of controlling what goes on inside.—Unknown

Rather than control I would suggest understanding instead. It seems rather obvious, at least to me, that control is an idea more than a reality. Control suggests a psychological power to exert force over a thing and make that thing more to our likeness. This is an illusion of powers we do not have. Again, rather than control—our attention needs to focus on our ability to influence and persuade.

The reason I suggest understanding rather than control comes down to this; you cannot control what you do not understand, and if you understand then you are capable of influencing others—because really, you don’t control others. Control really boils down to our power to communicate clearly with others.
