What if?

Lessons learned are the bridges with which to cross the rivers of regret.—Unknown

My river of regret began early in life—I was convinced by others I depended on that, no matter what, I was always wrong and in the wrong. Wherever there was a disagreement between me and anyone else, I automatically assumed, because of my childhood conditioning, that not only am I in the wrong—I am wrong. Imagine this; I never considered for a minute that I was even partially right. For someone like me, whose purpose and motivation is to understand, feeling stupid and wrong hindered that process significantly.

Then one day I had an epiphany; what if I was right—and everyone else was wrong? That moment profoundly changed the person I was. Upon reflection the reality looks like this; I’m not always right—but I’m not always wrong either.
